IT'S NEVER TOO EARLY TO START LEARNING FRENCH!
We offer children's classes for all ages and abilities, as well as a playgroup for little ones and their caregivers.
If you're attending any of our classes you can get a discounted yearly membership to Alliance Française Dunedin. As well as discounts at local businesses and invitation to events, you'll also have complete access to our wonderful range of resources to help continue learning & practicing French at home, including DVDs, Comics and a great French library, as well as the Institut Francais Culturetheque, an online multimedia library.
KIDS' CLASSES
Preschool Playgroup - Term 1 starts Tue 14 Feb
- Tuesdays 1:30-2:30pm
- Cost: $60 per term / $40 siblings and infants (<2yrs old)
Introduction to French Language and culture through stories, music and games. This is an informal, parent-led group, so come along and meet other families who wish to share their love of French with their little ones. Resources available and tea and coffee provided.

Classes for Primary School Age - Term 1 starts Fri 10 Feb
- Fridays: 4pm–5pm
- Cost: $80 per term / $40 Siblings
The Alliance Française offers classes for primary school children. Every week, they learn how to read and write in French, learn poems and songs and play in French.

Classes for Intermediate School / High School Students (ages 11+) - Term 1 starts week of 13 Feb
- Beginners: Mondays 4pm–5pm
- Intermediate/Advanced: Tuesdays 4-5pm
- Cost: $80 per term / $40 additional siblings
The Alliance Française offers classes for intermediate school and high school students at two levels: Beginner and Intermediate/Advanced. These classes allow students to develop their spoken and written French in an age-appropriate environment.

Enfants Bilingues - Term 1 starts Fri 10 Feb
Classes for bilingual kids aged between 4 and 14 years. These classes are meant for bilingual children only, with at least one parent being a French-speaker or for children having done a full immersion programme in a French-speaking country. They need to be comfortable understanding and speaking in French, as we only speak French during the class. We follow the programme and material MS to 4e (Year 0 to 9) from the French curriculum.
